César Duc de VENDÔME, Peer, Grand Admiral of France in 1651, Superintendent General of Navigation and Commerce of France, Duc d'Étampes, legitimate son of King Henri IV (Coucy-le-Château/ Aisne 1594 - 1665). Commission made at Bourbon-l'Archambault (Allier) on May 10, 1663, signed by César de Vendôme: "His Majesty (Louis XIV) having authorized Sieur Pierre CLAVERIE to load onto one or more vessels in the river of BORDEAUX the quantity of two thousand tons of Wheat wheat (sic Bled) to transport them, namely 1000 tons in the provinces of this Kingdom which may need them, and 1000 tons in Holland to sell, debit or exchange them, as he shall see fit... We mandate and order the Officers of the Admiralty of Bordeaux to allow the removal and transport of the 2000 barrels of wheat, without suffering any disturbance or delay, and to give me all aid, favor and assistance...". 1 page (32 x 20.5 cm).
