Marshal Duc de VILLARS. Claude Louis Hector, Duc de VILLARS, Marshal of France in 1702 (1653 - 1734). He saved his country with the glorious victory of Denain (July 24, 1712). Signed as Maréchal, Général des Armées de Sa Majesté sur les Frontières de Piémont (His engraved letterhead with vignette of his arms). The Régiment de Cavalerie de Manières is ordered to leave tomorrow, September 2, with arms and baggage, for St Clément, where it will remain until further notice. Done at Camp de Sézanne on September 1, 1708. 1 page (38 x 27 cm)
