LOUIS XVI. PORT OF ROCHEFORT (Charente-Maritime). Royal letter signed LOUIS XVI (Secretary) countersigned "Le Maréchal de CASTRIES", made at Versailles on October 16, 1784. "Sa Majesté ayant jugé à propos de faire passer le Sieur de BOUTIN Enseigne de Vaisseau du Commandement de La Flûte "La Vigilante", à celui de la Flute "La Désirée" armée au Port de ROCHEFORT. She instructs the Commandant and the Intendant of the said Port to have the said Flute handed over to her to follow its destination." - CASTRIES (Charles-Eugène-Gabriel de LA CROIX, Marquis de) was Marshal of France in 1783. 1 page (36 x 24.5 cm)
