LILLE (NORD) 1787. CENSORSHIP Placard (52 x 42). "JUGEMENT des Prévôt, Mayeur & Échevins de la Ville de LILLE, du 23 Avril 1787, contre la Directrice des SPECTACLES." Done in Conclave on April 23, 1787. "... it has just spread in the Public, a writing entitled opinion concerning the Spectacles; that this opinion in which the Director compromises the Body of the MAGISTRAT, by facts whose falseness is obvious, is moreover printed & made public, in contravention of the Ordinances; To these causes. Il requiert pour le Roi, qu'il soit informé contre l'Imprimeur & les Distributeurs dudit Avis, & que la directrice des spectacles soit mandée au Conclave pour y être ouïe, & ensuite punie..."
