They are traders in silks and silk waste, Frisons and Frisonnets (Cocoons freed from their outer stuffing). Letters from Frisons mechanical combing mills, silk waste combing mills; cotton yarn ropes for spinning mills; carding mills, fancy carding mills, silk spinning mills, dyeing mills, etc. Some letters are mounted in a volume entitled "Lettres". Some have defects and tears.
