Cultures of Mexico - COLIMA Vase representing a turtle Beige-orange ceramic with traces of deposit. Height: 15 cm Length : 34 cm Width: 23.5 cm Colima culture, ca. 200 BC AD - 500 AD. Mexico. A few chips, restorations on the back and surface wear, otherwise in good condition. Provenance : Benedicht R. Wagner Antiquités, Geneva Private collection, Geneva (acquired from Benedicht R. Wagner in 1973) Private collection, Vaduz (acquired 2006) Rare representation of a frog. While the front (head and legs) is rather realistic, the back legs are clearly stylized. On the back of the upper body, an opening in the shape of a spout. This is a temporary import lot (from outside the EU), for which import VAT of 5.5% must be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
