Cultures of Mexico - COLIMA Female figure lying on a bed. Beige-orange terra cotta Height: 5.5 cm Length: 11.7 cm Colima culture, ca. 200 BC 500 A.D. Mexico. Surface wear and small chips, otherwise good condition. Provenance : Private collection, Geneva (acquired late 70s-early 80s) Private collection, Vaduz (acquired 2006) This type of figurine is typical of Western Mexican culture. It is part of a depiction of village life. It was certainly surrounded by other characters such as musicians, women with their children, acrobats... This lot is a temporary import (from a non-EU country), and import VAT of 5.5% will be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
