Central American cultures - NICOYA Dish with geometric decoration accompanied by a turtle-shaped whistle. Beige slip terracotta with black and red paint. Diameter: 25.5 cm Height: 6.5 cm Turtle length: 6.4 cm Nicoya culture, ca. 1100-1400 A.D. Panama. Very faded decoration, chips on the neck and broken glue. Provenance : Salle des ventes de la rue de Hesse, Geneva Private collection, Geneva (acquired from Salle des ventes de la rue de Hesse in 1981, with invoice in the archives). Private collection, Vaduz (acquired in 2006) Lot temporarily imported (from a non-EU country), VAT of 5.5% must be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
