GUYENNE, LANGUEDOC. 1639. - "Le Prince de CONDÉ, Premier Prince de Sang, Premier Pair de France, Duc d'Anguien (Enghien), Châteauroux, Montmorency, Gouverneur et Lieutenant Général pour le Roy en Bourgogne Bresse Berry, Commandant pour Sa Majesté en ses provinces armées de Guyenne, Languedoc, Navarre, Béarn Foix.". He summons his ban and arrière ban (medieval hierarchy of high and low nobility): all other noblemen living nobly, on pain of deprivation of their charges, to come and serve in the King's Army in Languedoc. Done at NARBONNE (AUDE) on September 21, 1639. Follows the order of Pons Charles de LAUZIÈRES THÉMINES CARDALHAC Seigneur Baron of the said places Labourriane, Gourdon, Sayras, Pumisson other places, Captains of 50 men-at-arms, seneschal and Governor of QUERCY.
