June 21, 1791 - "The National Assembly declares to the citizens of PARIS, to all the inhabitants of the Empire, that the same firmness which it brought, in the middle of all the difficulties which accompanied its work, will direct its deliberation, on the occasion of the kidnapping of the King of the Royal Family, warns all the Citizens that the maintenance of the Constitution, that the Salvation of the Empire never required more imperiously the good order the public tranquility; that the National Assembly has taken the most active measures to follow the trail of those guilty of abducting the King from the Royal Family; that it will, without any interruption in its sessions, employ the means to ensure that the public interest does not suffer from this event; ...".
