Nicolas Prosper BAUYN D'ANGERVILLIERS (1675-1740) Seigneur d'Angervilliers (Essonne), Intendant, then Secretary of State for War. Letter signed from VERSAILLES on May 12, 1735, to Mr. PONTE D'ALBARET. He has received his letter concerning the trial that the Superior Council of Roussillon is conducting against a Capuchin friar accused of stealing and profaning consecrated hosts; "the King, to whom I have given an account of the obstacles to the execution of this religious being carried out inside the prison in the event of his conviction, leaves it up to you to do what you see fit...".
