Autograph certificate signed "le Marquis de CASTELLET Chef d'escadre des Armées Navales de Sa Majesté très Chrétienne" (Le Roi d'Espagne) and co-signed by the Marquis de PIERREVERT - Done at Carthagène (Nouvelle Grenade, on the Antilles Sea.) August 23, 1794 - "Monsieur PINCONY DE BROUTIERE has served under our orders as Officer of the Royal Navy of France with the greatest intelligence and talents of his profession. We further certify that during the French Revolution, he gave proof of his invariable desire to serve the cause of the Princes of the Blood, and that on the occasions that arose, he behaved in such a way as to prove to us that he had preserved evidence of the greatest attachment to the restoration of the Monarchy, and that he ended up experiencing all the horrors of persecuted virtue. In witness whereof I have given him this certificate to serve him before all persons who can soften the evils of which he is a cruel victim." 1p in-4°
