COMITÉ DE SALUT PUBLIC. Letter signed by two members of the - Lot 320
COMITÉ DE SALUT PUBLIC. Letter signed by two members of the Comité de Salut Public, Louis Félix ROUX (Conventionnel de la Haute-Marne) and Denis Toussaint LESAGE (Conventionnel d'Eure-et-Loir), to Représentant du Peuple Jacques ISORÉ (Conventionnel de l'Oise). Paris, 18 Germinal An 3 (April 7, 1795). Vignette of the Comité de Salut Public. 1 folio page: "We can only approve, Citoyen Collègue, of the measures you seem prepared to take. They are undoubtedly in keeping with the spirit of the country you are visiting. We are persuaded that they will provide us with resources; but as they must be swift, we urge you not to suffer any interruption in the execution of the present measures, and to bring forward as soon as possible the payments which will be made in execution of the tenders due to you. We can only repeat what you knew before you left, that we are on the verge of running out every day, that soft rice and cookies will be in short supply tomorrow, and that we will perish if your activity does not bring us prompt and abundant income.
