Vice-Admiral in 1804, Count of the Empire in 1810, Peer of France - Letter signed Vice-Admiral GANTEAUME, Paris March 21, 1806, to Mr. DUBOIS-THAINVILLE General Commissioner for trade relations in ALGER (Algeria). 3 folio pages. Covers: "I see from your letter of the 8th of this month that you have succeeded in obtaining the freedom of Captain Vincent de Palma and his crew, and that the Dey has given you the assurance that the Vessel le SAINT ESPRIT and the cargo will be reimbursed to this Captain...". He appreciates "this new proof of the skill of your conduct and the influence you have acquired with the Regency of Algiers..."
