"I have the honor of sending you a dissertation on a Roman Camp near NANCY, which has not been mentioned until now, although it is one of the best preserved in all of France. If the Société (Archéologique) would see fit to include it in its memoirs..." + NANCY, Sept. 17, 1824. "I visited Mont Afrique near Dijon, and I must rectify a few irregularities in the memoir I have the honor of sending you on our Camp d'Afrique near NANCY... I intend to visit a Roman Castellum in our vicinity, as well as some ancient tombs. If it is worthwhile, I will have the honor of sharing my observations with the Society..."
