NANTES (LOIRE ATLANTIQUE) Commercial correspondence addressed to Félix QUENEAU ARMATEUR in Nantes, currently in Paris rue de Rivoli - 30 Letters A.S. from Auguste CHEREAU of NANTES, from November 1847 to February 1848. (addresses postmarks): "If however you wish to know about these coffees, I would ask for samples and send them to you by stagecoach... the distribution of letters in favor of the transatlantic liners has been going on for a few days, but to date it has not yielded much result. Mr Maîs gave me 5000 Fcs in 3 bulletins yesterday and this morning at the Bourse... We received notices from the United States on Nov. 15 announcing favorable weather for the harvest (of cotton) and 4 to 5 new cargoes for our port with prices down on all markets... Sugars from our West Indies are still calm and prices stable..." (Excerpt)
