FLAHAULT DE LA BILLARDERIE (Charles De) General and Count of - Lot 532
FLAHAULT DE LA BILLARDERIE (Charles De) General and Count of the Empire, Aide de Camp to Napoleon 1st in 1813, Diplomat, Peer of France, Father of the Duke of Morny (1785 - 1870) - LETTER A.S. PARIS September 24 (circa 1860) - 2pp in-4°: "My dear Colleague, I am leaving tomorrow for LYON, where I will make very short trips, as my daughter's health does not allow me to make long ones.... My plan is to embark at CHALONS. Would you be so kind as to let me stay at the Hôtel de Provence or the Hôtel d'Europe... I'll choose it as it's closer to the steamboats on the Rhône. My daughter will probably rest one day in LYON... She will spend the winter in Rome with Mme De FLAHAULT. I will accompany them to Genoa or Livorno, and from there to Vienna. This cruel illness has disrupted my entire existence..."
