Henri WILD, Swiss physicist and meteorologist (Uster 1833 - Zurich 1902). Initially Professor of Physics and Director of the Bern Observatory, he was appointed Director of the St. Petersburg Observatory in 1868. He is credited with founding a large number of meteorological stations, both in Switzerland and Russia, as well as inventing the Polaristrobometer - Autograph letter signed BERNE (Switzerland) July 8, 1868 - 2pp in-4°.
