Ernest BARTHEZ (Narbonne/ Aude 1811 - 1891) Pediatrician, one of the pioneers of modern pediatrics, Académie de Médecine - Autograph letter signed July 29, 1870, about a young Sielfried patient who wants to bathe - 3pp in-8°: "...To begin with, let him soak for one to two minutes; depending on the effect, we can go up to five minutes in a week or so. Let's keep a close eye on the effect on the evacuations; if they become less good, I'm obliged to resume all my severity and suspend the baths. We mustn't forget that we're in the season when diarrhea and dysentery develop easily... I ask for supervision and suspension of the baths at the slightest relapse...".
