Mathieu LEHANNEUR (born 1974) Relais de la Flamme cauldron Segmented metal circle inscribed with the Paris 2024 logo, on three legs resting on a base covered with hammered mirror-polished stainless steel sheet. The base fits onto a chassis with castors. Total height 110 - Width 150 - Depth 121 - Diameter 136 cm (screws missing, fasteners missing) The base, like the lower part of the torch, is hammered to give the material a "wavy" appearance, recalling the undulations of water and the Seine. This also allows the light and flames to shimmer off the material. As simple a form as possible, for the idea of gathering.
