Paralympic Torch for the Paris 2024 Games - Lot 163
Paralympic Torch for the Paris 2024 Games Official torch of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, designed by designer Mathieu Lehanneur and manufactured in France by ArcelorMittal. Its sleek, symmetrical design reflects the fundamental values of these Games: equality, water and unity. Identical to the Olympic torch with the exception of the engraved logo, it symbolizes inclusion and universality, bringing the two events together for the first time in a single emblematic object. Made from 100% recycled steel, its soft champagne-gold hue evokes light and human warmth. It measures 70 cm in height, weighs 1.5 kg and has a uniform diameter of 3.5 cm. Produced in a limited edition of just 500 for the Paralympic Games, the flame is both exclusive and durable, marking a break with the mass production of previous editions. The Paralympic flame, lit simultaneously in several locations in France and overseas, took a unique route before arriving in Paris. Carried by torchbearers celebrating diversity and resilience, it crossed emblematic territories, forging links between communities and reminding us of the strength of the Paralympic movement. Presented in its official case, this torch embodies the spirit of the Paralympic Games, between surpassing oneself and fraternity.
