AIX CUSTOMS. 1813. EMPIRE. STRAITJACKET & WILT. Judgment of the Prevostal Customs Court in AIX (Bouches-du-Rhône) dated 17 June 1813 which condemns a Weaver and Merchant Colporteur native of the Tarn and resident in the Hérault, accused of the crime of smuggling and prohibited goods and foodstuffs (importing sugars), to the penalty of hard labour, exposure to the straitjacket and the mark of the letters V.DD. Printed in AIX, by Augustin PONTIER, Imprimeur de la Cour Prévôtale, 1813. Vignette with the eagle in the coat. Cupboard (55 x 43) Condition B+.
