[PROTAT Louis] Examination taken by Mademoiselle Flora in or - Lot 276
[PROTAT Louis] Examination taken by Mademoiselle Flora in order to obtain her diploma as a whore...S.n.d. (circa 1930) booklet in-12 bound, 27 pages. Uncommon clandestine edition. At the end one reads on the last printed leaflet: It was drawn from the present work 20 copies on Japan numbered from I to 20. Our copy is not numbered and is printed on beautiful paper (which is not a Japan but a beautiful lightly tinted vellum). Louis Protat was born in Châtillon-sur-Loing (Loiret) in 1816. He studied literature and law at the college of Sens and then in Paris. He bought his boss's study while he quickly became a member of the Caveau (1847). He became a full member in 1848 and became one of the most applauded chansonniers of this society. His productions are often playful and saucy, and his poetry and songs are distinguished by the variety of subjects, the correctness of form, and the sparkling richness of rhyme. He was seven times President of the Caveau. He died in Paris in 1873. Pierre Larousse speaks in his Grand Dictionnaire de son péché de jeunesse : Examen subi par Mademoiselle Flora etc. published in 1864. It was republished several times in a clandestine manner, with or without illustrations. Reference: Dutel, Bibliography of erotic works published clandestinely in French between 1920 and 1970, n°1534 . Nice copy.
