BOYER (Jean-François) Preceptor of the Grand Dauphin (father - Lot 156
BOYER (Jean-François) Preceptor of the Grand Dauphin (father of Louis XVI), Bishop of MIREPOIX, First Chaplain of the Dauphine, of the French Academy (1675 - 1755) : Letter A.S. "J. the former Bishop of MIREPOIX", from VERSAILLES (78), 10 August - to M. de MARVILLE, Lieutenant General of Police in Paris. 3pp in-4°: on the subject of a contested election among the JACOBINS OF NANTES: "Your project is very good, my dear Sir, just think that the Provincial Chapter of these Doctrinarians is being held, as I believe, at the beginning of September. Without this firmness this affair will never end... I am delighted that Sieur Neveu is happy with my work. I would however like this election to be done as soon as possible, because I always fear that these gentlemen will escape us. They are a strange race..."
