Edme François JOMARD (1777-1862, engineer, geographer and archaeologist, he was part of the Egyptian Expedition of 1798 and was Honorary President of the Institute of Egypt) / Autograph letter signed, 1 p in-8 plus address page (letter carried), to Ferdinand de Lesseps (the contractor builder of the Suez Canal), Jomard was himself Honorary President of the Universal Company of the Suez Canal and actively participated in the promotion of this project: "I believe that up to now everything is going well. Your publication reaches its goal. It enlightens everyone" [This is probably the publication in 1855 by Ferdinand de Lesseps of "Percement de l'Isthme de Suez - Exposé et documents officiels"].
