Cycling/ Favor/ Clermont/ Mich. Joyful and rare canvas litho - Lot 61
Cycling/ Favor/ Clermont/ Mich. Joyful and rare canvas lithograph (59x40) from 1910 signed by the great Mich (Michel Liébeaux, 1881-1923): "World Championship, 1st prize to the Favor bicycle, Clermont-Ferrand, built in combined tubes, supporting 400 kg without flinching." Faced with this feat, the experienced weightlifter loses his hair, and remains as two round flanks with his rigged weights....Favor (1898-1977) was in Chamalières and Clermont an emblematic brand...that built solidly, while going "straight to the point". The great editor and champion cyclist from Mt Dore, the unforgettable Joseph Foré (1901-1991), is said to have gone to Paris to seek his fortune on one of the brand's machines. The latest news is that the brand is about to be revived, like the Petit-Breton, Bobet and Dilecta brands... Did you say nostalgia?
