SCOUTS ANNEES 30 - Camille MARCHAND(1889-1970, painter, illustrator, poster artist and theater designer) / Unique copy of a 12-page folio album written, drawn and signed by Camille Marchand, entitled "Les Costumes deLa Farce du Rôti", executed in memory of the first performance ofLa Farce du Rôti, an episode from Rabelais adapted for the stage, performed by the scouts of the Paroisse Saint-Léon in Paris, the performance took place on March 4, 1933: the full-page album includes 6 original gouache models of the set and costumes ("le Fou", "les Ecoliers", "le Veilleur", "le Faquin", "le Rôtisseur"), each signed "C.M.", plus a composition on the back cover - This folder also includes the program of festivities for the Salle Saint-Léon, an original photo (black & white - 18 x 24 cm) of the set, the loose-leaf page from the parish bulletin reporting this first performance with an illustration of the set, and some thirty sheets (mostly loose-leaf) from several monthly bulletins of the Paroisse Saint-Léon with numerous illustrations by Camille Marchand, including the cover.
