Anne Alexandre Marie de MONTMORENCY-LAVAL (1747-1817) Marquis, then Duc de LAVAL, Lieutenant-General, decorated with the Order of Cincinnatus, an ancient American patriotic society founded by George Washington on May 13, 1783 and composed of those who had distinguished themselves during the American War of Independence - Letter signed "Le Marquis de LAVAL" in BOURG, September 12, 1767. 1 page in-8°: "Don't blame me, Monsieur, if I am later than I would like to be in complimenting you on the recovery of your health. Please believe that very few people take as keen an interest in it as I do. I had very much hoped to be able to give you proof of this.
