Olympic Games/ Summer 1896-1906/ Athens Two medals: a) large-format modern copy of Chaplain's 1896 round winners' medal. Perhaps in 1996, a nasty compensation for the centennial gone to Atlanta; obverse: Zeux, reverse: the Acropolis. Diam. 8cm; b) Commemorative medal for the 1906 intermediate games (taken from the N. Lytras of 1896): obverse: Niké with her laurel wreath in front of the Acropolis, reverse: 4 lines in Greek (Olympic Games) and in the cartouche 1906, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Gilded bronze. Diam. 5 cm. Traces of wear.
