Autograph letter signed "CHATIGNONVILLE" at Château de CHATIGNONVILLE, near and by DOURDAN, September 20, 1783, addressed to his Comrade the Marquis de VASSÉ, Lieutenant in the French Guard Regiment, Paris. A friendly letter. With his Congé about to expire, he asks about the regiment's current affairs. "... I am with a very sick mother, to whom I am very useful, but this will not prevent me, however, from going to the Regiment when my leave ends, so that you in turn can enjoy your freedom.... Si vous saviez jusqu'à quel jour le Salon de peinture sera ouvert au Louvre, et s'il y a quelque jour de prolongations de plus pour le mois de septembre..." 2 ½ pages in-8°.
