Central American cultures - NICOYA Dish with geometric decoration accompanied by a turtle-shaped whistle. Beige slip terracotta with black and red paint. Diameter: 25.5 cm Height: 6.5 cm Turtle length: 6.4 cm Nicoya culture, ca. 1100-1400 A.D. Panama. Very faded decoration, chips on the neck and broken glue. Provenance : Salle des ventes de la rue de Hesse, Geneva Private collection, Geneva (acquired from Salle des ventes de la rue de Hesse in 1981, with invoice in the archives).
