Trieste March 17, 1810: on the outlawing of paper money in the Illyrian Provinces: "... by allowing private individuals the freedom to contract and stipulate Bancozettels, paper money will not disappear entirely from the Illyrian Provinces. The inconveniences which had led me to accelerate the time of its withdrawal from circulation will continue to occur, the prices of goods will retain their high rates, and we will lose the invaluable advantage of putting an end to the Agiotage resulting from the rise and fall of paper in relation to money...". 4 folio pages.
