Bird pendant. - Lot 400
Bird pendant. Semi-translucent emerald green jade. Height: 4.3 cm Linea Vieja culture, Atlantic slope, ca. 300-700 A.D. Costa Rica. Pendant representing a bird carved on both sides. Its beak is hooked and folds in on itself. Its folded wings are highlighted by fine engravings. The tail is separated from the legs by a small oblique notch, probably forming the head of an alligator. Under its slightly incised skin, a hole allows it to be carried. A very fine example in magnificent jade. Provenance: Collection of Monsieur F.
