Cultures of Mexico - COLIMA Seated shaman, arms crossed. His ribs are protruding. He is wearing a three-pointed helmet. Opening at the top of the skull. Red terra cotta with traces of manganese oxides. Height : 27 cm Width: 10.5 cm Thickness: 14.5 cm Colima culture, ca. 200 BC A.D. 500. Mexico. A few chips, otherwise very good condition. Provenance : Private collection, Geneva (acquired late 70s-early 80s) Private collection, Vaduz (acquired 2006) Seated shaman in stylized form. The arms are tubular, crossed and resting on the left knee. The left hand rests on the raised left knee. The right leg lies on the ground, feet touching. The head rests on the forearms. The skull is deformed. He is wearing a headdress adorned with a shamanic horn. This lot is a temporary import (from a non-EU country). VAT of 5.5% will be added to the hammer price for sale in France.
